SCULPTURE COURSES Fine art and master craft orientated.

The courses are short duration, varying in length, suitable for beginners and advanced students a like, minimum age 18 years. Venues vary as more courses are added to the site.

CLAY MODELLING COURSES: Several courses covering clay modelling, portrait modelling, modelling from the life figure, animalier sculpture. The courses are tutored by professional working sculptors and artists who have been creating sculpture for decades. The life course emphasis will be on working from direct observation of the model, combined with participants personal interpretations to the figure.

STEEL SCULPTURE FABRICATION COURSES: This series of courses is for participants interested in metalwork sculpture, fabrication techniques and direct sculpture. Direct sculpture being that once fabrication is finished the sculpture needs little more work to be undertaken on it. The courses are tutored by a professional working sculptor who has been creating steel sculpture for decades, from small scale works to colossal 13m high artworks.

WAX SKETCHING MODELLING COURSES: Several courses using wax as the modelling material, modelling from the life figure, a combination of quick expressive sculpture sessions and more observed study. The emphasis will be on working on wax sketch sculptures from drawings made from direct observation of the life model, combined with participants personal interpretations to the figure. There is an opportunity to have the wax sketches cast into bronze.

LANDSCAPE, SEASCAPE, & LIFE FIGURE DRAWING/PAINTING Several courses of x3 days duration, covering drawing and painting of seascapes and landscape in this beautiful area of Scotland. Still life and the nude subjects, outdoors and studio based.

BRONZE CASTING COURSES, of x5 days duration learning the ceramic shell bronze casting technique. Make a small wax sculpture then undertake the whole process of casting it into a finished bronze sculpture for you to take away.
