LANDSCAPE, THE NUDE, DRAWING & PAINTING COURSES
AIMS This course is suitable for beginners and more experienced alike. You will be learning to explore through observation, the landscape and the figure to develop your artistic expression. Searching for your own personal style, trying to think as an artist, increasing your artistic perception and confidence, in a relaxed professional atmosphere. Professional working artists who have been creating artworks for decades, with previous teaching in higher education will tutor the courses. The emphasis will be on developing your individual artistic needs working from reference to the local landscape, the life model and studio work. We will try and accommodate your expectations of the course and discuss these at the outset and sincerely hope this course inspires you further to pursue your artistic endeavours.
CLASS SIZE Maximum of x6 students working with Peter Scott Tudhope MA (Fine Art). This course needs a minimum of x5 participants to run.
DURATION x3 days course, There is the option of attending on a single day as a day workshop basis.
HOURS approx start 9:30AM until 12:30PM, break for lunch, then start back 1:30PM – 4:30PM. With tea breaks!
NOTE This is a course for absolute beginners, it is primarily a drawing and painting course with demonstrations of technique and explanation to assist your learning.
PROGRAM may vary depending on weather etc. DAY 1 Working from the landscape, drawing, expressive sketching and more observed draughtsmanship. DAY 2 Working from the landscape, painting, loosening up exercises, sketch painting and more observed working. DAY 3 Working from the life model or portrait model, including loosening up exercises, sketching and more observed working.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS you will need old clothes suitable for outdoors drawing and painting.
COST of the x3 day Drawing and Painting course is £250 (incl of VAT). The fee covers your tuition and all materials used on the course. Course cost with accommodation in our cottage 4 nights, £370 (incl VAT) There are two rooms available as S/C accommodation in our holiday annexe cottage adjacent to the studio workshop, first come first served or if you prefer you can book into a local B&B. You can have an evening meal with us in the farmhouse 'en famille' by prior arrangement.
